The U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) serves as DOD’s authoritative source for the positions and motion of celestial bodies, motions of the Earth, and precise time. USNO provides tailored products, performs relevant research, develops leading edge technologies and instrumentation, and operates state-of-the-art systems in support of the U.S. Navy, DOD, federal agencies, international partners, and the general public.
Since 2018, TTS has been supporting the USNO’s mission by providing:
- Specialist technologists supporting cyber-engineering & implementation programs
- IT infrastructure SMEs
- Celestial Reference Framework (CRF) data analysis & research
- Data engineering support to build the RMF+framework for USNO NexGen Enterprise
- SMEs designed & implemented a one-of-a-kind CRF data collection device that supports global barycentric computations
